Cindy, just wnted to give you an update on the pups! Emma is doing great, like i had said she has passed and receied her Canine Good Citizen certificate and is working towards her therapy certificate. Chumley is also doing well. he has just passed up Emma and is now taller than her. He still has a lot of puppy in him and enjoys chewing anything wood he can find, including our coffee table and footboard unfortunetly lol. He is still hasnt begun to fill out yet so I'm sure he will be quite large. We are guessing that Emma is around 130ish and Chum is reall close at 120 were guessing at 8 months. I will be sending pictures of them in their halloween costumes soon!

Hi Laura, I'm happy to hear your Lily is doing well with Blue Buffalo.  Unfortuantely, my dog (Bubba) didn't have such a good experience.  He was 3 months old when we started to notice his diarrhea. I just thought it was because we changed him to a new food.  By the time he was turning 4 months old, his shaking limbs began.  That's when we got worried.  I rushed him to the emergency vet and they asked us about his diet and other questions.  At that time we were informed he wasn't responding well to the food!  I had no idea that would happen! I was told it was just too rich for his digestive system.  So when I spoke to Cindy, she told me what to do and after a couple of weeks, he went back to normal.  But if Lily is doing well, that's great!! Keep up the good work.  Bubba is doing great these days, you can see his pics in the guestbook!

I appreciate the concern, but the truth is that when we brought Lily home, my other dog was on the Blue Buffalo Lamb & Rice.  So, Lily started eating it right from the get go, even though I tried to keep her on the purina.  I know that their other Blue  varieties have a high content of protein in them, but I have always had my other dog (elderly) on Blue's lamb & rice, low protein, since she did not get alot of excercise.  Lily couldn't keep away from it and starting eating it along with the Purina early on and eventually we weaned her off the the Purina completely.  She seems to be doing remarkably well on it.  I haven't seen any side effects, but let me know exactly what side effects that you experienced.  But, if Lily experienced any problems at all, I would have been aware.  She seems to be happy and content.  And Cindy, you are right, I did love every one of those dogs when I came to visit Lily as a pup.  I wish I could have taken every one of them home with me.  But then, I would have been looking for a home!

Love My Mastiff! (Lily)

Hey there Cindy, It's been a while since I've been online.  I've had Bubba on the Healthy Morsels Lamb and I guess he just grew tired of it and HE WON'T EAT IT! But it's ok, I have him on a Nutro product that has low protein as well.  He's 8 months now and is so darn heavy! He still thinks he can sit in our laps LOL

I read that Laura is using Blue Buffalo!  I hope she has a better experience than I had.  Laura, if you read this, be very careful with Blue Buffalo.  If it works well with your little girl then that's great, but it made my Bubba SO SICK! I had to take him to the 24 hour emergency vet because of the brand.  Just watch her carefully PLEASE.  If you notice diarrhea, shaking in her limbs or anything out of the ordinary; it may be the food.  The vet told me it was just too rich of a product for our dogs" digestive system.  But like I said, if it works for you then that's great.  There's another Mastiff mom that is aware of this on Cindy's site.  Just watch her carefully.

Hi Laura

If you are referring to Blue Buffalo you may want to re think that food.. I had pulled it up on line for someone one time and it had many bad side effects to where pups were evening dieing from it..  If you go back yo Page 6 in my guest book.. There was a girl that feed tat to here dog. and he was very very sick and so she switched and he has done so well..

Sorry to hear about your foot..But glad you are getting back to normal.

Sounds like Lily is a fast learner.. Thats great..  Oh I put my scale up today and Dalila weighed 119 pounds.. crackes me up to think she was the runt.. she is no runt now.. and we almost lost her a few times.. put she is all good now.. thank goodness.

I knew you loved her from the start.. all tho I think you loved them all..lol

Lily is now on Blue's Lamb and Rice.  It has the low protein like Purina and it seems to be working well with her.  Now, we are waiting for Lily to go through her first heat so we can schedule her spaying.  I also want to get a microchip put in when she goes in for that surgery, just as some added protection for ownership.  I had to stop with the obedience training because I ended up having surgery on my foot and was on crutches and in a cast for about 4 weeks.  I am just now starting to walk somewhat normally.  But she learned alot while we went and Lily is always learning more and more.  We have two Pugs that live next door that she just adores.   She is such a good girl.  I love her so much.

Hi Laura

So sorry to hear about your other dog..

Happy to hear that Lily is doing good.. I just got my own scale in it is a vet one.. so I will be weighing all my dogs.. Not sure what Dalila(Lily's sister) weighs but I bet she is close to that.. she is 26 inches to the shoulder..

I can not wait to see pictures of Lily..She will start playing in the pool I am sure.. her daddy loves the water..

What dog food is she eating??

Thanks so much for the info.

Hi Cindy,

This is Lily's mom.  Just wanted to let you know that I was finally able to weigh Lily today when I took her to the vet and she weighs 99 pounds at 8 1/2 months old.  She is a nice healthy, friendly girl.  She LOVES me.  Follows me everywhere and loves being outside.  We have a nice big yard for her and have just introduced her to her own little pool.  She loves the water coming out of the hose, but she is not too sure about the pool.  She thinks it is just a big water bowl!  I'm sure as time goes on, she'll learn to love cooling off it it.  I have some good updated pictures of Lily but they are on my computer at work.  I'll try to remember to sent them to you this week.  We recently had to put our other dog down.  Lily was a little lost for awhile, but she seems to have gotten through it.  It was very difficult for all of us.  But now Lily has all the attention.  And she loves that.  Talk to you soon.
